Kelly Hindle has joined the board of Manchester digital agencies Fluid Commerce and Fluid Marketplaces as commercial director.
Bringing more than 20 years of experience to the role, spanning business development, marketing, PR, and journalism, Kelly will be responsible for growing the two sister companies that specialise in B2B ecommerce and Amazon marketing.
Kelly, who is married to the agencies’ managing director Adam Hindle, previously worked for law firm JMW Solicitors for 13 years where she led business development in the firm’s medical negligence section. Joining JMW in November 2011, Kelly contributed to significant turnover growth in the highly respected practice by leading business development initiatives and marketing campaigns.
Initially training as a journalist, Kelly has spent time working at former Guardian Media Group titles the Rossendale Free Press and Accrington Observer. She also spent a short period at the Lancashire Telegraph as its Rossendale reporter before making the move into PR and marketing.
Commenting on her move into the family businesses, Kelly said: “Joining Fluid Commerce and Fluid Marketplaces is a big sea change for me, and it was also a big decision to mix my personal life with work. But I reached a point where I was ready for a change after many fantastic years at JMW and at the same time Adam was looking at my skill set and realising I could make a big contribution to the agencies. It became clear that there were far more positives than negatives to us working together and the time was right to take the plunge.
“You do have to draw a line and try not to take work home with you too much or you would just never switch off, and our children have already started to complain that all we talk about are the businesses. However it’s exciting for me to contribute to what Adam has built up since he started the agencies in 2009 and see where we can take things.”
Adam added: “We have both questioned whether it would work but all I can say is that those doubts were completely unfounded and Kelly has made a positive impact already. When it comes to work, we are both on the same page, and Kelly is very committed to growing the agencies.”
Adam launched ecommerce agency Fluid Commerce in 2009, and it now focuses mainly on the B2B market and helping businesses, such as manufacturers and wholesalers, with online sales growth. Sister agency Fluid Marketplaces, which specialises in helping B2C companies achieve sales growth on Amazon, was set up as a standalone agency in 2024, although the Amazon services were previously provided under the Fluid Commerce brand for five years. In total the two agencies employ 22 people across the UK, and internationally, and are headquartered in Spring Gardens, Manchester City Centre.
