Ecommerce agency Fluid Commerce has been appointed to transform the online experience for Cartwright & Butler, the premium British food gifting brand known for its indulgent biscuits, confectionery, hampers and keepsake tins.
Following a competitive pitch process, Cartwright & Butler, which has products stocked in Selfridges, John Lewis and Fenwick, and also has a large presence with ecommerce retailer Moonpig, has selected Fluid to support the next phase of its ambitious ecommerce growth plans.
With more than 115 years of heritage, the family-owned Yorkshire brand has grown from its roots in traditional baking into a leading premium food gifting business. The project awarded to Fluid will deliver a high-performing ecommerce experience for customers that will enable Cartwright & Butler to grow ecommerce sales.
An improved ecommerce site will enable Cartwright & Butler to increase sales of its hampers, gifts and corporate collections, enabling the brand to strengthen its position within the premium food gifting market.
Adam Hindle, managing director of Fluid Commerce, said: “This is an incredibly exciting project to win and we are thrilled to have been selected by Cartwright & Butler. The growth opportunity available to this company is huge, and we’ve made various recommendations for best-in-class technologies, such as Hyvä, and approaches that will enable it to realise that potential.
“This investment in Cartwright & Butler’s ecommerce offering will pay dividends and help to establish the brand as a leading online retailer of premium hampers and gifts.”
Naomi McCann, head of marketing at Cartwright & Butler, said: “Our ecommerce site is a vital expression of the Cartwright & Butler brand and an increasingly important part of how customers discover, experience and shop with us. We needed a partner we could trust to combine strong technical expertise with a genuine understanding of our customers and commercial ambitions. Fluid demonstrated that throughout the pitch process. We’re excited to work together to create a faster, more engaging and enjoyable online experience, one that brings our products, heritage and distinctive approach to gifting to life, while supporting the next stage of our growth.”
