Founded in London in 1991, Gecko Jewellery has become one of the UK’s largest jewellery suppliers.
They are known as the most comprehensive “one-stop-shop” wholesaler offering customers seven unique collections suited for women, men and children with a range of price points.
Gecko Jewellery had been dealt a challenge. Their previous agency had ceased to exist overnight, leaving them with no development support or ecommerce consultancy.
They had several projects lined up for their B2B Magento Open Source platform, and there were several issues affecting their customers that needed remedying quickly.
By your side as much or a little as you need us
Connect your Adobe Commerce store with the systems you already use
By your side, guiding the way to ecommerce success with commercial insights and technical knowhow
In response to these priorities, we sat down with the Gecko Jewellery team and discussed an action plan to achieve all main objectives within the first few months of partnering with Fluid Commerce.
The first stage was to establish a new hosting provider. We recommended one of our partners, CoreFinity.
Between Fluid Commerce and CoreFinity, we quickly established the requirements of how the site was set up on the current server with the ERP platform and proposed a new setup.
Once the new server was set up, the work began to upgrade the Magento Open Source environment to the latest security version and add in two-factor authentication for admin logins.
The migration took place a few days later to the new server and Gecko Jewellery was up and running with a new development agency and hosting provider.
Over the next few days, all major issues Gecko Jewellery raised were fixed and ready to be pushed to their live site.
During the first week, we discussed the projects that Gecko wanted to quickly get off the ground.
The largest project was a partnership with a household name UK Jewellery retailer to supply a custom engraving website for their customers.
This is currently in progress and will be going live at the end of October 2024.
By moving to a managed hosting service, the website has benefitted from increased performance:
The site is fully secure with all of the latest security patches and upgrades for modules.
By adding in two-factor authentication, Gecko Jewellery has minimised the risk of being maliciously intruded, which in turn is safer for their customers.
Gecko Jewellery now has a close working relationship with their Fluid Commerce account manager who understands how the business works and is offering ecommerce consultancy to drive the business forward.
"From the start, the team at Fluid Commerce understood our position and worked hard to help us get back on track and put us at ease. Their smooth onboarding process was a huge relief!
The communication has been excellent, quick, thorough, and clear. The reporting process is transparent and easy to follow.
Our account manager at Fluid is great to work with. They understand our requirements and have been very helpful in navigating the challenges from our previous situation. The team is very thorough, knowledgeable and easy to work with."
