Fluid Commerce: 2020 Year in Review

Fluid Commerce: 2020 Year in Review

Ah, 2020. It’s been… a year. But despite all of the fear, worry and frustration, as a company we banded together and have made it to the end of the year knowing that we have done our absolute best for our clients, and for one another. And it shows in our results.

Though any kind of ‘2020 review’ will be tinged with a little discomfort, we wanted to take a look back and celebrate our successes so we could end the year on a high. Plus, we wanted the opportunity to recognise and celebrate the hard graft, passion and dedication the whole team has thrown into the company these past few months, as well as saying a big thanks to our exceptional clients and fantastic partners for their ongoing trust and support.

Without further ado, here is the 2020 Fluid Commerce year in numbers:

1 Company Rebrand

Goodbye Fluid Digital, and hello Fluid Commerce! Out with the old and in with the new – it was time for a rebrand to better align who we are with what we do. And what we do is ecommerce: expertly, innovatively and exceptionally.

2 New Services

At Fluid Commerce, we’re always on the lookout for ways in which to better support our clients and grow our service offering. This year we launched our Shopify and Paid Social service, to a fantastic reception.

19 New Clients

It’s been a big year for us. This year we won 19 new clients – a 10% increase from 2019! Our wins included Magento 2 builds, Shopify websites, a host of PPC clients, no less than eight Amazon Advertising contracts and our first Paid Social client – won before we even officially launched our new Paid Social service!

5 Award Wins

We’re an award-winning company, and our talents were recognised again this year with another clutch of awards. Our highlights included the Best Small PPC Agency at the UK Search Awards, and being announced winner of the Ecommerce Agency of the Year (Small) at the Northern Ecommerce Awards.

8 Digital Events

At the top of 2020 we had a whole host of events, workshops and roundtables planned. Alas, a certain coronavirus put paid to that. But, not to be deterred, we pivoted to an online events calendar, offering bespoke roundtables to an invite-only audience and open ecommerce-learning webinars.

Subjects ranged from ecommerce survival, to Amazon ‘do’s and don’ts’, how to plan for peak trading, and how to build a successful ecommerce store.

4 Industry Benchmarking Reports

Keeping track of who is doing what and how well they’re achieving their ecommerce objectives is of enormous interest to us at Fluid Commerce. And, we realised, would probably also be of interest to leading retailers as well. That’s why we decided to make our sector-specific ecommerce benchmarking reports public this year.

1 New International Office

In March, we launched our team in Ukraine, a country which produces some of the very best front and backend Magento developers in the world. Since setting up with one member of staff, our Ukrainian base has grown to a team of five, with more developers set to join us in the new year.

13 New Members of Staff

As you have probably gathered by now, 2020 has been a year of huge growth for Fluid. From new clients to new services to new offices, momentum has built and the buzz around us has been loud!

To keep up with demand, we not only increased our team with five new developers in Ukraine, but we also added eight more in our UK office across our services, including a Project Manager, Account Manager, Paid Social Manager, Head of Marketing and our Paid Search Executive.

2021, Here We Come

Suffice to say we are ready for 2021 (aren’t we all?) With ambitious growth plans queued up and exciting projects about to begin, big things are coming for the new year. Keep up to date by following us on social (links below) or signing up to our newsletter.
